Free parking is available onsite.
It’s best to stick to backpacks for your luggage, because the resort area is car-free and you have to walk up an incline nature path with stairs to get there.
Why go glamping in Slovenia?
Now that I have experienced it, luxury camping is something I believe everyone needs to try at least once in their lifetime. You get all the out-in-nature vibes of camping, but with a little added comfort.
I stayed in the Soca Lean To Deluxe and, complete with:
- a comfortable bed
- cozy linen
- dresser
- futon
- relaxing outdoor chairs
- handmade table to rest your evening drink on
It was heaven!
If you are more inclined towards traditional camping though, there are alternatives.
You can bring your own tent and pitch it on the campgrounds, rent a regular tent, or even rent a semi-glamping tent which includes a little roof for extra shelter and warm bedding.
Alternative option – rent a camper van in Slovenia
If you’re planning this stay as a longer road trip, a camper van is a great choice for transport and gives you a lot of freedom while traveling.
Check out my itinerary guide for a 2 week Balkans road trip for more ideas of where to stop.
If you do this, you can travel in style with a funky VW campervan which you can rent from Balkan Campers.
They offer old school VW T3 models and also few newer options.
Adrenaline Check is a car-free resort. If you wanted to stay here you could rent a glamping tent, regular tent, or alternatively you could stay at one of the nearby campgrounds.
Things to do in Bovec, Slovenia
Adrenaline Check offers a range of adventures you can book with your stay.
From extreme bungee jumping and canyoning to relaxing kayaking and swimming tours, there is something to suit everyone.
They also offer different accommodation and adventure packages ranging from quick day trips to week-long adventure trips.
If you prefer to adventure alone, there is a lot you can explore on your own in the area.
Some of the highlights in the area are:
- Beautiful Soca Valley where part of the Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was filmed.
- Hike the Boka Waterfall or view it from a viewpoint.
- Hike the trails around Adrenaline Check – it’s well signed and you can ask the staff for recommendations.
- Hike to the waterfall at Slap Virje
- Visit the Outdoor Museum Ravelnik
What to pack for Slovenia
It is a rainy area so it’s a good idea to check the weather and bring appropriate gear.
I’d definitely recommend:
- a waterproof jacket
- lightweight quick dry shoes
- lightweight quick dry towel
- waterproof camera
- waterproof dry bag to carry your belongings
The food at Adrenaline Check
This was a highlight for me.
You can experience an authentic Slovenian BBQ – which I highly recommend doing.
The meal is prepared and cooked over a fire right in front of you and the meats are cooked to perfection.
Along with the meats, we had fresh bread, and a refreshing tomato and onion salad. There’s really no better way to end the day than with a BBQ dinner by the fire, right? It was delicious and there was so much flavor in the dish.

The community vibes
Meeting new people is one of the most rewarding aspects of traveling and glamping is a great opportunity to experience this.
As our hosts put the finishing touches on the BBQ dinner, I was able to chat to the other hungry travelers and hear about their adventures that day.
There is a wonderful, community vibe to the experience which you don’t get in other more isolated accommodation options.
Environmentally friendly glamping in Slovenia
Adrenaline Check is an environmentally conscious business that not only talks about being environmentally friendly but also leads by example.
As you look around the grounds you will see evidence of this with touches like solar panels that keep everything running and the recycling and composting bins for waste management.
If you go on a tour you will find that the tour numbers are kept small to reduce the negative impact on the environment.
It’s very easy to see that they care for the environment around them and work towards protecting it so that it can be enjoyed for many years to come.
The staff
When I arrived, I was greeted with a big smile by a man named Matic.
I immediately felt the warm, friendly vibes that I have often experienced when meeting the dream chasing types of people – very similar to Tony from Venture Hawaii and Dan from The Real Hawai’i Tours.
There’s a common theme with these people.
They seem to have a connectedness with life and embody a certain warmth and happiness. When I asked him why he decided to create Adrenaline Check his answer was very simple, “I love to live.”
Isn’t that the best reason to work?
